Privacy Statement re the provision of a report from the Prospective Students Office Schools Database

Monash University is subject to the Information Privacy Act 2000 (Victoria). The act requires that school and prospective student information is used, maintained and disclosed in accordance with the Information Privacy Principles listed in the Act.

In practical terms this means that:

  • you must not copy or distribute this information to a third party within or outside Monash;
  • the information must only be used for the purpose for which it has been collected that is to provide course and career information from Monash University to Secondary Schools;
  • the information must be current, so once this data is used please destroy this listing of schools / prospective students and request a fresh report when next required;
  • you must protect this information against misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
  • Although this database is updated in February/March of each year, you must inform us of any anomalies or errors in this database that are apparent after your mail out (ie. items marked "return to sender")
