Curriculum Vitae - Professor Graham Webb

Professor Graham Webb is Pro Vice-Chancellor (Quality) at Monash University. He holds the qualifications of BA Honours, MSc, PhD with distinction and PGCE.

Graham has been a teacher, researcher and manager in Universities since 1973.  His career includes seven years at the University of Ulster in Ireland, six years at the University of the West Indies in Jamaica, eleven years at the University of Otago in New Zealand and since 1997 he has been at Monash University in Australia. As Pro Vice-Chancellor his role is to lead and support quality in all areas of the University including teaching and learning, research and research training and support services, and to oversee academic staff development.  The Centre for Higher Education Quality (CHEQ) and the Centre for the Advancement of Learning and Teaching (CALT) report to him. 

As CEO of Monash College Pty Ltd from May 2006 – June 2007 he was responsible for the six businesses comprising the group: Monash College, Monash University Foundation Year, Monash University English Language Centre, Monash Academy (including Study Groups and Homestay), Monash Professional (short courses) and the International Student Placement Centre.  These businesses generate approximately AUS$43m per annum and involve approximately 260 staff.

Graham is author or editor of 9 books and numerous book chapters and journal articles concerning organisational and staff development and the theory and practice of teaching and learning in higher education.  He is an Editorial Advisory Board member for five international journals.  He chaired the first and subsequent audits for the Australian Universities Quality Agency (AUQA) and acts as an auditor for the Universities Academic Audit Unit in New Zealand, the Higher Education Quality Committee of the Council for Higher Education in South Africa and the Oman Accreditation Council.  Graham is an international consultant specialising in university quality systems, learning and teaching improvement, planning, leadership, staff and organisational development.
