CHEQ Services

CHEQ provides predominately corporate services concerned with leading and supporting the development of quality assurance and improvement in all areas of the University's operations. The Corporate services provided by CHEQ, as developed by the Vice-Chancellor’s Group, include to:

  • lead, advise and support high level decision making with respect to the development of quality assurance and improvement policy and practice;
  • lead, advise and support the development of quality assurance and improvement policy and practice in academic programmes;
  • lead, advise and support the development of quality assurance and improvement policy and practice in research and research training;
  • lead, advise and support the development of quality assurance and improvement policy and practice in central and faculty-based support services;
  • lead, advise and support the university in preparing for national and international quality audits;
  • provide a range of evaluation services for corporate, academic, research and support service areas;
  • engage with and contribute to the national and international discourse of ‘quality’ including professional bodies and communities in order to both learn and to disseminate information and experience.

The ‘range of evaluation services’ provided on a university-wide basis includes:

  • Course Experience Questionnaire (CEQ);
  • Graduate Destination Survey (GDS);
  • Employer Survey;
  • Head of Department Survey (HODS);
  • Learning & Growth Survey (LG);
  • Monash Experience Questionnaire (MEQ);
  • Monash Residential Services Survey (MRSS);
  • Monash Questionnaire Series on Teaching (MonQueST)
  • Postgraduate Research Experience Questionnaire (PREQ);
  • Postgraduate Research Supervision Survey (PRSS);
  • Unit Evaluation;

CHEQ is an initial point of contact for advice and consultation concerning surveys and questionnaire design. CHEQ can also provide customised evaluation services on a fee for service basis. Fees for evaluation services include survey design, production, data capture, analysis and report writing.
