Excluded
Definition
You are excluded from your course or from your faculty for at
least one year. You can apply after that time for readmission, but you
will need to show that you have taken steps to ensure that you can
succeed academically, e.g. taken Open Learning study or studied in
another faculty or at another institution.
Reality Check
Being excluded is not the end of the world. It may well be the
start of something very positive for you. Think about why you came to
Monash and where you want to be in the future.
Reflect
- How and why did you get to this point?
- Is University where you want to be right now?
- Is this the right course for you?
- Do you have personal or other problems that are getting in
the way of study?
- Are you motivated to do this course?
- Were you motivated when you started? If yes, what happened?
- What do you really want to be doing?

Prepare
Make specific plans to take this opportunity to explore your
options. Don’t spend a year wasting your time.
- Is it time to enter the workforce?
- Do you want to study elsewhere?
- Do you want to study part-time? (This is not an option for
international students) or off-campus?
- For international students, consider undertaking study
outside Australia.
If you wish to apply for readmission to your course or another course
you will need to demonstrate that your circumstances have changed
substantially and that you have been successful in some other form of
study. i.e. you need to show that you have improved your academic
skills.
