Monash University Islamic Society (MUIS)A students' community group based on the principles of brotherhood, rationalism, co-ordination and co-operation to take care of the zislamic activcites at Monash University, inform Muslim students about relevant information and activities. Australian Union of Jewish Students (AUJS)The main body under which Jewish university students can unite and express themselves both on and off campus. It offers a wide variety of religious, educational, social and political activities throughout the year.
Before the various festivals, AUJS volunteers to help members and other participants prepare for the festival with information about the meaning of the festival and how to practise it. Other annual activities include Israel Week., a table at Multiculturalism week and Holocaust Commemoration Day. There are also various on campus social events held throughout the year. Off-campus activities include an annual ball and other social events for all Melbourne's Jewish students, which are announced throughout the year. Friday Night Sabbath dinners run in conjunction with AUJS, are usually run at least twice a semester. For more information about AUJS, call the president Evgeny Vizelman on 0421 895 653.
