Counselling at Caulfield CampusThe Counselling Service provides professional and confidential psychological services to the staff and students of Monash University-Caulfield Campus. The service offers counselling on a wide range of issues. Counselling can be useful for dealing with minor concerns as well as more serious or longstanding problems. External referrals to psychiatrists, community health centres or psychologists can be arranged where appropriate. Contact InformationAppointmentsAnyone wishing to make an appointment with a counsellor can phone or come to the service at any time during business hours. They will be seen within 24 hours by a duty worker who will find out what their concerns are and arrange for an appropriate referral to a university counsellor or external service as appropriate. The service is confidential and free for students and staff of Monash University. StudentsGroup ProgramsSeveral programs are offered each semester to assist students to achieve their academic potential
StaffConsultationsThe staff are available for consultation with groups or individuals within the University on matters relating to staff or student welfare. In the past, seminars, lectures or workshops have been presented for various student or staff groups. For example, Service psychologists have participated in Mature Age Student Orientation, Group Presentation skills, Orientation for Overseas Students, Staff Development Training for various departments, and Basic Counselling Skills. Programs can be developed to meet specific needs of academic, social or special interest groups, e.g. programs to enhance students' ability to work together on projects, to speak up or make presentations in tutorials. Counselling Service staff have also offered programs in areas of stress management, conflict resolution, team building, work place communication and coping with traumatic incidents. The service is provided by OSA Group who are the current external provider of the Monash University Employee Assistance Program for staff. This service is
