What is Positive Monash?

Positive Monash is a new initiative aimed at bringing Positive Psychology to Monash. The program is aimed at enhacing the well-being and experience of all students and staff at Monash.

Positive Psychology is an action-oriented preventive health model which is looking at accentuating the positive, fostering strength, realistic optimism and confidence.  It is about building competencies, providing different perspectives to help people feel more positive and in control, teaching positive coping strategies, challenging negative thinking, fostering the belief that change is possible and building capacity to manage their lives.

The building of capacity and resilience is the focus of Positive Psychology as well as assisting people to discover what provides engagement and meaning in their lives.

Positive Psychology is gaining in popularity in the psychology field in the United States and is beginning to take the rest of the world by storm. This website aims to provide interested readers with up-to-date information and events in Positive Psychology, especially those right here for you to access and enjoy at Monash University.
