Health Service at Caulfield CampusThe Health Service on the Caulfield campus offers a range of services to the students and staff on the campus. The aim of the service is to improve the health and wellbeing of clients by providing them with a better understanding of all the factors which impact on their health. A full range of health services are offered, including an emphasis on health education and prevention. The various health services work cooperatively to offer a holistic approach to health care. FeesAustralian Resident Students and International Students with Overseas health cover are bulk billed and in these situations no fee is raised to the individual attending. Fees may be charged directly to the individual for some routine medical examinations (eg: Diving Medical). The UHS also has a set of private fees. Payment is made at the time of consultation. Members of the University Staff receive a discount service. Medical ServiceDoctors are available for general medical care including treatment, education and advice, with particular expertise in women's health, travel medicine, sports medicine, stress management and health counselling. The cost of the consultation is bulk billed to Medicare or health cover fund for overseas students. Nursing ServiceThe nurse is available for health information and advice, treatment, vaccinations, first aid treatment and to attend to emergencies on campus. MassageA masseur is available for Shiatsu massage. There is a fee for this service, reduced for students. To make an appointment, call University Health Service on 9903 1177. OptometryAn optometrist provides consultation and assessment of vision. The cost is bulk billed to Medicare or health cover fund for overseas students. Glasses and contact lenses are available at a reduced rate to students. PhysiotherapyA physiotherapist is available for consultation, assessment and treatment of musculo-skeletal and sporting injuries. There is a fee for this service, reduced for students.
