THRIVE© at Work

THRIVE©: Tools for Health Resilience Insight Vitality and Empowerment.

THRIVE is a stress reduction program for Monash Staff. Its main focus is on the environmental, behavioural, physiological, cognitive and emotional factors which underpin stress and often lead to illness that can disrupt both work and personal life. Participants will learn some very useful life skills such as relaxation; worry control, values clarification, how to combat procrastination, assertiveness techniques and how to sleep better.

Cycle of Sessions

Environmental Factors: Introduction Physiological Factors: Body Awareness and Breathing, Relaxation, Sleep
Behavioural Factors: Assertiveness, Worry Control Cognitive Emotional: Rational thinking, Job Stress

THRIVE offers:

  • An 8 week cycle of one hour sessions
  • Lunchtime, or 5PM sessions by request
  • Join at any time
  • Make up missed sessions in subsequent cycles
  • Workbook provided by Student and Community Services Division
  • Relaxation CD
  • Homework
  • Individual coaching sessions
  • WEB based maintenance
  • Referral to other resources
  • Presentations by experienced psychologists
  • Customised service to workgroup
