Student ID CardsWhen you enrol at Monash University you will be issued with a student identification (ID) card containing your photo and unique student ID number. Your card identifies you as a member of the Monash community and enables you to borrow from University libraries. Depending on the services for which you register, your ID card can also be used as an electronic door key and membership card. You may be asked to agree to additional conditions specific to these services when registering for them. Your ID card remains the property of the University and is not transferable. You must take reasonable steps to ensure that your ID card is secure and is not deliberately or inadvertently available to anyone else for use. You must carry your ID card at all times on University premises and at other locations prescribed in the requirements of your course. You must display your card at all timetabled exams and you are required to produce your ID card on demand of a University Officer, including but not limited to when:
Misuse of an ID card may constitute misconduct. Lost cardsAny Student Service Centre (SSC) can replace a lost ID card for a fee, upon presentation of photographic ID. Off campus students should contact the SSC on the campus at which you are enrolled for instructions on replacing a lost ID card. Also report your lost ID card to the library to prevent anyone else borrowing books in your name. Expired cardsYour ID card expiry date is calculated according to your expected course duration. If your card expires before you complete your course, any SSC will issue a new card with an extended expiry date free-of-charge on return of your expired card. |
