Existing University Policy - Disciplinary Counselling Requirements for Academic Staff

The counselling requirements for the purposes of clause 51.5 of the Monash University Enterprise Agreement (Academic and General Staff) 2005 are as follows:

  • The supervisor shall first counsel the staff member on the nature of the improvement required and the time within which reasonable improvement is expected;
  • A record shall be kept of the counselling given and a copy supplied to the staff member; and
  • If the supervisor considers appropriate, the staff member will be directed to appropriate professional development to assist in improving performance.
