Hours of Work (Trades and Services CRCCM Enterprise Agreement 2005)

66. Hours of Work

66.1 The ordinary hours of work shall be in accordance with clause 35, but may be worked on not more than five days on any day Monday to Sunday inclusive, except as otherwise provided in clause 73.2 of this clause.

66.2 The ordinary hours shall be worked as a 19-day four-week cycle of 8 hours each day on any five days of the week Monday to Sunday with 0.4 of one hour for each day worked accruing as an entitlement to take a rostered day off in each four week cycle. Rostered days off will be taken on an ordinary working day and at the discretion of the University, may be rostered on the same day as the majority of staff members .

66.3 For part-time staff members the ordinary weekly hours shall be worked in accordance with the following provisions:

  • Where a staff member works a regular weekly number of hours on each of five days of the week, the staff member (other than a cleaning staff member commencing employment on or after the date of certification of this Agreement) shall have an entitlement to take a rostered day off in each four-week cycle. Rostered days off will be taken on an ordinary working day and at the discretion of the University may be rostered on the same day as the majority of staff members.
  • The ordinary hours of work having been determined by the University in accordance with this clause, shall not be altered, except in the case of emergency without the giving of one week’s notice of such alteration provided that if hours of work are rostered with a rostered day off in each four-week cycle, the hours of work may not ordinarily be varied until a fourweek cycle is completed.

66.4 Each day of paid leave taken and any holiday observed by the University and occurring during the 19-day four-week accrual period shall be regarded as a day worked for Rostered Day Off accrual purposes provided that each day of paid leave is debited at the rate of 8 hours per day from leave credits (or pro rata thereof in respect of eligible part-time staff).
