117. Minutes

The minutes of Meeting No. 12/91, held on 27 August, have been circulated.

118. Matters Arising from the Minutes

118.1 Work of the Committee of Deans

At meeting 11/91, it was decided that key issues should be identified and discussion papers should be prepared on each issue for consideration at meetings. A sub-committee was established to consider appropriate items of the agenda comprising Professors Darvall, Williams and Pargetter who agreed to prepare a report. A report was received from Professor Williams at the last meeting of the Committee (D63/91), but consideration of the matter was deferred in the absence of the Vice-Chancellor. 118.2 Appointment of Language Instructors At the previous meeting of the Committee of Deans, a paper was D69/91 received from Professor Pargetter (D69/91), however the matter was deferred until the next meeting of the Committee.

118.3 Allocation of Equipment Funds

At the previous meeting of the Committee, Professor Bellamy referred D73/91 to a paper that had been prepared by Professors Darvall, Sinclair and himself relating to the allocation of equipment funds. The Committee agreed to defer further consideration of the paper and noted that equipment funding would also be discussed in conjunction with the development of the 1992 Budget.

124. Meeting Dates 1992

A schedule is attached of proposed meeting dates for 1992. All meetings are scheduled at 2.15 pm on Tuesday afternoons except for 23 April, for which a Thursday has been scheduled as 21 April is one of the Easter holidays. In addition, four special meetings have been tentatively scheduled to discuss the Budget. It is intended that some of the meetings will be held at other campuses and these are yet to be specified.

The next ordinary meeting of the Committee of Deans will be held on Tuesday, 8 October, commencing at 2.15 pm in the Clayfield Room, Caulfield Campus.
