54.3 Revised Procedures for Academic Promotions D35/94 pp12-27

A draft copy of revised procedures for academic promotions is attached. The draft has been discussed with, and agreed to, by representatives of the NTEU, incorporates minor amendments suggested by the Steering Committee of the Academic Board on 27 April, and will be considered by Academic Board later today.

Comments or suggested changes will be included in the discussion at the Board meeting.

58. Training of Postgraduate Students in OHS

At a meeting of the Finance committee held on 28 October 1993, and reported to Council on 13 December, the Vice-Chancellor undertook to refer the matter of training of postgraduate students in OHS matters to the Committee of Deans.

A new policy as approved by the Vice-Chancellor's Executive is attached for comment, prior to being referred to the Equal Opportunity Committee and Council.

60. The Vice-Chancellor's Awards for Provision of Exceptional Service D37/94 by General Staff pp30-32

The attached new policy has received in-principle agreement by the General Staff Conditions Consultative Committee and has been approved by the Vice-Chancellor's Executive. The General Manager will speak to this item.

61. Job Rotation Scheme for General Staff D38/94 pp33-35

A paper detailing new policy, as approved by the Vice-Chancellor's Executive, is attached for comment.

62. General Staff Probation Procedures D39/94 pp36-37

A paper approved by the Vice-Chancellor's Executive is attached, for comment.

63. General Staff Redeployment Policy D40/94 pp38-40

A new policy, attached, has been developed following discussions and agreement with the NTEU. The policy has been approved by the Vice-Chancellor's Executive and, following comments from the Committee of Deans, will be circulated to members of the General Staff Conditions Consultative Committee.

65. Proposal for establishment of a post of Professor/Director of Burns Surgery at Alfred Hospital pp43-60 D42/94

The Board of the Faculty of Medicine is recommending to the Academic Board the establishment of a post of Professor/Director of Burns Surgery at Alfred Hospital. Funding for this post would be available through case-mix funding for the hospital and the appointment would be made through the joint University/Alfred Hospital process.
