At Meeting No. 8/95, the Committee of Deans received and noted documents concerning the Higher Education Management Review Committee (Hoare Committee). Additional documents are attached. 8.1 Quality Money

10. General Business

10.1 Report of the Associate Deans (Teaching)

A report is attached.

The Committee is requested to receive and note the report and endorse the draft Associate Deans (Teaching) Statute for transmission through the Academic Board to Council.

10.2 Report of Working Group on Review of Graduation Ceremonies

A report is attached.

10.3 Berwick School

Deans, Academic Board and Council have previously endorsed the initial academic development plan for the Berwick Campus. This plan indicated that a School of Communication, Tourism and Business would be established for students studying at that campus and for staff teaching Berwick programs. The School is of the kind where staff in the School are also members of departments or other schools with the status of departments (in line with the recently approved school governance arrangements).

Deans are now asked to formally approve the establishment of the School with reports through the Board of the Faculty of Business and Economics, with copies of reports going to the Boards of the Faculties of Arts and Computing and Information Technology.

The next meeting of the Committee of Deans will be held at 2.15 pm on Tuesday, 5 September 1995 in The Sir George Lush Room, Ground Floor, University Offices 3.1, Clayton Campus.
