Meeting 3/99 of the Committee of Deans (Meeting 1/99
Committee of Deans Discussion Group) will be held at 4.00 pm on Tuesday,
16 March 1999 in the Monash City Office, Level 11, 30 Collins Street,
Melbourne. Dinner will be served at 6.00 pm.
Members having a direct commercial or financial interest
in any item before this meeting must declare that interest to the Chair
via the Committee Secretary prior to consideration of the item, and must
not take part in a vote on any matter concerning it.

2. Consideration of Agenda Items/Issues for discussion at future
meetings of the Committee of Deans Discussion Group
A copy of a memorandum of 2 December 1998 from the
Vice-Chancellor to the Committee of Deans outlining the role of function
of the Discussion Group is attached. Attachment 1
Professor Redmond has suggested the following topics:
- Finalisation of proposed new Professional Practice Policy.

Staff workload allocation systems

Should Monash be operating in other metropolitan areas
in Australia — Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide?
3. Next meeting
The next scheduled Committee of Deans Discussion Group
meeting will be held on 4 May 1999 at 4pm at the Monash City Office.
(The next scheduled Committee of Deans meeting will be
held on 13 April 1999 at 2.15pm in the Sir George Lush Room.)
