Deans Discussion Group Meeting 5-2001

Meeting 5/2001 of the Deans Discussion Group will be held at 4.00 pm on Tuesday, 17 July 2001 in the Monash City Office, Level 11, 30 Collins Street, Melbourne.  Dinner will be served at 6.00pm.

1. Attendance and apologies

Professor John Anderson, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Monash South Africa will be present for this meeting.

Apologies have been received from Professor Alan Lindsay, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Academic and Planning) and Professor John Rosenberg, Dean, Faculty of Information Technology.

Ms Alison Crook, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Resources) will speak to this item.

Professor Peter Darvall will be present from 5.00pm and has requested that this item be discussed when he is present.  A paper is attached. (Attachment 2)

7.1.1 Proposal to establish and fill the position of Professor of Psychiatry at The Alfred Hospital

7.1.2 Proposal to establish and fill the position of Professor of Nursing

Professor Nick Saunders, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, will speak to these items. Three papers are attached (Attachments 4, 5 and 6)

7.1.3 Proposal to appoint three Professors in Accounting and Finance

Professor Gill Palmer, Dean, Faculty of Business and Economics, will speak to this item.  A paper is attached. (Attachment 7)
