Education Policy and Programs Committee (EPP)

A Sub-Committee of Education Committee

Introductory Note

The EPP and its sibling committee the Learning, Teaching and Quality Committee (LTQ) are two sub-committees of Education Committee. EPP focuses on maintaining the University’s Education Policy (and the constituent policies found in the Academic Policy Bank) and related processes, including those relating to course and unit approval. LTQ focuses on ensuring high and consistent quality in the University’s teaching and learning activities. There is a shared responsibility for the implementation of the Education Plan 2006-10 and in most cases the relevant objectives and strategies in the Plan clearly fall under one sub-committee or the other.

There is some potential for overlap between the two sub-committees, and this will be managed by periodic meetings between the Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor and the chairs of the two sub-committees. Those meetings will also consider the management of Education Committee’s business generally and compile agendas.
