To ensure alignment of Monash University’s Senior Leadership Management Development with Monash strategic direction:

Building organisational capability
Development of organisational culture
Development of leaders and managers able to effectively lead and manage in a complex global university

Members of the Leadership and Management Development Reference Group:

Bring experience in academic leadership in teaching, learning and assessment, research and research training and community engagement
Bring experience in senior management and leadership
Provide critical and creative suggestions to enhance senior management development
Work collaboratively with program organisers to support the development of future strategies and approaches for senior management development
Provide links between planners and organisers and the leaders and managers in departments and faculties
Contribute informed views and information gathered from a wider audience
Consider the possibilities, potential and implications for effective interventions on all stakeholders
Consider proposed programs, ways of delivering these and discuss the potential efficacy
Identify effective mechanisms to link senior management development plans to outcomes which are linked to University objectives
Consider the critical leadership behaviours Monash wants its leaders to develop and model
Identify and consider development needs and support mechanisms to enable heads to function effectively in their role
Support and foster collegiate networks across all functions of the University
