Download the full breakdown of results (pdf, 650kb) About the SurveySurvey focusThe Staff Attitude Survey has a primary focus on staff 'engagement'. Staff engagement measures staff commitment to the organisation and is impacted by the culture of the University. The SAS measures engagement by combining responses to the following items: organisational commitment, job satisfaction and intention to stay. ConfidentialitySeveral steps are taken to ensure the confidentiality of the survey process. All survey responses are analysed by an external independent research team at Voice Project. Online surveys are completed via a Voice Project website and paper-based surveys will be sealed in envelopes by staff and sent unopened to Voice Project. Results are reported by Voice Project only where groups of 10 or more people have responded. At no point will anyone from within Monash University be able to identify responses from individual staff. The survey will contain some demographic questions (such as age, gender, employment status etc) but these questions are designed purely to enable analysis of responses across different groups of people to determine whether demographic patterns exist (eg. to see if women have different opinions to men, or if academic staff have different opinions than general staff). The survey consultant Voice Project and its parent organisation Macquarie University may also use the raw data in research and benchmarking but at no time will any individual or organisation be directly identified in the published research.
