Occupational Health and Safety Policy Committee
The Occupational Health and Safety Policy Committee was established in accordance with the consultation arrangements set out in the Victorian Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 and meets the membership requirements of the Act. The Committee reports directly to the Vice-Chancellor and meets four times a year.
Constitution
The Committee is chaired by the nominee of the Vice-Chancellor and comprises a Dean, a Senior Manager nominated by a Dean, management representatives from Administration and seven staff employee representatives. Students are also represented on the Committee via the Monash Student Association and the Monash Postgraduate Association.
Role of the Occupational Health and Safety Policy Committee Member
The Occupational Health and Safety Policy Committee is committed to and responsible for the initiation, development and implementation of occupational health and safety policies, procedures and programs across the University.
Members of the Occupational Health and Safety Policy Committee have been chosen from a wide variety of campuses and work groups to ensure that all Committee decisions are reflective of the needs and views of all Monash staff and students, and are considerate of, and sensitive, to the diversity of Monash's broad based teaching, research and support activities.
The main role of all Policy Committee members is to contribute their own expertise, experience and knowledge to the Committee in the development of all Occupational Health and Safety policies, procedures and programs across the University.
