First Aid Level 1 - Basic Life Support
Overview
Upon completion of this course participants should be able to carry out emergency first aid procedures in the first few minutes of a life-threatening incident. Topics covered are: cardiopulmonary resuscitation, initial first aid management of the collapsed or unconscious patient, bleeding and the First Aid Code of Practice. Participants are required to complete an exam at the end of the course. First aiders are also required to renew their First aid certificates every three years. Staff considering the Level 1 option need to ensure that:
Group Size: 20 maximum, 10 minimum
All enrolments must be submitted to OH&S no later than 5 working days prior to course commencement.
