Fire Safety at Work
Overview
The objectives of this ocurse are to introduce staff members to the fundamentals of fire prevention and to plan action in the event of a fire. The course provides instruction and practical experience in the selection and use of portable fire extinguishers. The course does not include training in the conduct of building evacuations.

| Target group: | A minimum of 5% of staff in office-based departments and 10% of staff in higher risk areas. Higher risk areas include laboratories, workshops and studio areas. Postgraduate students in the higher risk areas are encouraged to undertake this training. Please note that participants are required to undertake a refresher course every 3 years. |
