Hydrofluoric Acid Safety Training

Overview

Hydrofluoric acid is corrosive, and highly poisonous hazardous substance. Skin contact with hydrofluoric acid solutions or the inhalation of its vapour has caused many serious injuries, or in some cases death.  Under the Victorian Occupational Health & Safety (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2007 employers have a legal obligation to protect people at work against risks to their health associated with the use of hazardous substances. Work involving the use of products containing hydrofluoric acid at a concentration of 0.1% or higher falls within the scope of these Regulations.

This course is designed to make those using or considering using Hydrofluoric acid and solutions aware of the hazards in its use, the laboratory requirements,  Personal protective equipment, reinforcing of good lab practices and protocols,  as well as first aid requirements for its use.
