Active Transport Study
Would you like to improve your health and help the environment at the same time? |
Begins 22nd September for 12 weeks.
As part of Sustainable Transport Month starting 22nd September, the Office of Environmental Sustainability in partnership with Monash Sport and Wellbeing at Monash are offering up to 10 students or staff the opportunity to take part in an innovative Active Transport study |
The study, which will run over 12 weeks, aims to promote active transport to and from your place of work or study as part of an overall health and fitness improvement program.

Key Steps to Parenting after Separation
This program informs parents of the impact of separation and divorce on children. It provides parents with key information and strategies to assist children to successfully adjust to separation and divorce |

Race Against Poverty
Based on the hit TV series "The Amazing Race", the annual MGK Race Against Poverty involves participants in groups of 2 to 4 racing around the Melbourne CBD in search of locations that have been encrypted in clues |

Staff & students are encouraged to form teams of eight and couple their usual daily activities together with a 30 minute walk. The number of steps walked per day can be counted using a pedometer |

School of Primary Health Care Seminar Series: Community Voices 2009 - Dr Jim Hyde "Rethinking Public Health Leadership"
The Monash University School of Primary Health Care Community Voices seminar series aims to connect academic researchers and students with the views and experiences of those directly working within both public health and community health.
This exciting seminar series provides new insights from some of our leading community health care policy makers and advocates, who are working at the grass roots and government levels to change the health and well-being of Australians.
The next seminar of the series will be presented by Dr Jim Hyde and is titled "Rethinking Public Health Leadership" |

Dr Jim Hyde is the Director of Public Health in the Victorian Department of Human Services. In this role he is responsible for strategic and policy advice to the Victorian Government on a range of public health issues including health protection (environmental health, food safety and communicable disease prevention and control), health advancement (health promotion, primary prevention and chronic disease prevention), and health intelligence (monitoring, surveillance and evaluation).
