Locating Materials Codes or Group Codes in a listings

The simplest way to locate an item in the materials and group code listings is to use the Materials Code listing as this provides greater depth of detail and lists material codes as well as material group codes.  To find a code:

1. Select the Material Codes listing from the left hand index section.
2. Click on an area in the list (to ensure you are in the correct frame in your browser).
3. Select the Find in Frame under the Edit Menu.
4. Enter a text string or representing the description into the selection box.  Do not use wild cards such as asterisks.
5. Click on the Find Next button to locate the text.  Continue to click on Find Next  to locate other matches.

Example: (using Netscape)

To find references to "Vehicles" in the Materials listing

1. From the left hand index select Material Codes
2. Click on the Materials code listing in the right side of the screen
3. Select Edit from the menu bar
4. Select Find in Frame
5. Type vehic in the Find what: selection box
6. Select Down direction
7. Click on Find Next
8. The cursor should jump to the first reference to vehicles
9. Continue to click on Find Next again to see if any other entries
10. The search should find vehicles as well as vehicular references
