Strategic Procurement Group is part of the Financial Resources Management Division and was established as a result of a DEST Workplace Productivity program in 2006.
The function of the Strategic Procurement Group is to:

develop and promote the use of Strategic Sourcing best practice processes to the University's purchasing;

leverage the University's purchasing power by consolidating purchasing requirements when engaging the supplier market;

to develop and issue major tenders and establish preferred supliers for commonly used goods and services;
-
to identify areas where savings can be generated, by way of purchase or usage;
-
to develop policies that promote better purchasing practices; and
-
to act as an advisory service on all procurement issues.
