SAP Material Codes

Material groups and associated material codes are used in SAP to:-

Classify the purchase of goods or services into logical groups - this information is then used to set strategic initiatives to better utilise the university's overall purchasing power.
Provide a means of compiling information on expenditure patters on various classes of products.
Identify special goods and services that require release by appropriate officers (ie. radioactive sources, computing equipment, multi function devices etc). In the group and material code listings an asterisk * denotes a material with a Release Code.
