Getting You There - Travel Management Project

The vision of the SAP Travel management project is to provide a hassle-free travel process for Monash University travellers.

The project seeks to improve the travel process at Monash by implementing a fully automated, end-to-end travel management system, replacing existing, largely paper-based, travel processes across its Australian campuses.

This, in turn, will allow the university to:

  • Demonstrate a greater duty of care to travelling employees and HDR students
  • Maximise opportunities associated with university travel
  • Be more consistent in how policies are applied
  • Become more accountable

An SAP travel management solution, linking to the SAP Financial Accounting system, customised to suit Monash's unique travel needs and accessed via Employee Self Service (ESS) has been chosen as best able to meet the university's requirements.

The project will be implemented in three phases, reflecting the university's three main travel processes:

Phase 1: Travel Request - currently in pilot stage.

Phase 2: Travel Planning

Phase 3: Travel Expenses
