Bus service resumes

The Caulfield-Clayton inter-campus bus last week resumed service for 2000.

With more than 68,000 passengers using the bus last year, the service has proved to be both valuable and necessary. The timetable will be the same as last year, with the first bus leaving both campuses at 8.30 am and thereafter at half-hour intervals from 9.10 am. The last bus for the day leaves at 5.40 pm.

There is no 12.40 pm service, to enable the drivers to have their lunch break.

During the year, the bus will not operate from 3 July to 14 July or from 25 September to 29 September. It will cease operating for the year on 17 November.

Administration and art

Student Admissions and Records administrative officer Ms Tanya Sarkies recently held a successful exhibition of her digital photography and painting.

The exhibition, held at the ROAR Studios in Fitzroy, explored Victoria's contemporary gambling culture.

Ms Sarkies, who will begin an honours year in Fine Arts at Monash this year, was also featured in an interview on the ABC.

Monash University Vic 3800

Monash University is now a completely independent 'suburb' as far as the Australia Post postcode system is concerned.

Our new address is Monash University Vic 3800, and the word 'Clayton' should no longer appear.

As well, incoming mail procedures have been improved by adding a Monash University post office box numbering system to the address. This means that all mail addressed to the Clayton campus will now need to be addressed as follows:

Person's name
Department/Centre/School, etc
PO Box number
Monash University Vic 3800

A list of the post office box numbers for each department/centre/school and further information on the new system can be found at www.monash.edu.au/staff/announce/2000-02/msg00007.html

ExPERT Seminar 2000

The Monash Research Graduate School, Research Services, will next month hold an induction for new research students.

The induction will take place on Wednesday 22 March, between 2.15 pm and 4.15 pm in lecture theatre S3, building 25, Clayton campus.
