Monash Webgrrls is a newly-formed group for Monash University women interested in the web and its associated technologies. Members include experienced web and IT professionals, students studying information technology, women beginning to dabble in web publishing, and other dedicated users of the web. Monash Webgrrls aims to provide a support, mentoring and information network and organise events such as meetings and seminars on web-related issues and news. The group also intends to provide formal and informal training to increase Monash women's skills in information technology and further their employment prospects. To date, more than 60 members are on the group's mailing list. Monash Webgrrls is a chapter of Webgrrls International, which provides a forum for women in new media and technology to network and learn the skills needed to succeed in an increasingly technical workplace and world. For more information about Monash Webgrrls, see www.webgrrls.com/monash Win $50 in staff surveyAll academic and general staff are being asked to fill out an online survey to assess the effectiveness of the information technology facilities and services available to Monash staff.
