Monash supports Ukranian studies

Vice-chancellor Professor David Robinson has signed an agreement with the Association of Ukranians in Victoria president Mr George Fedyszyn for a continuation of the Ukranian Studies Program at Monash.

Speaking at a ceremony held recently to mark the agreement, Professor Robinson said Monash benefited in several ways from the international links that had been fostered through the program.

"Several of our students from various faculties have studied at Kyiv University in the Ukraine under the Monash Abroad scheme," he said.

"As well, a number of literary scholars and historians from the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine have been Visiting Fellows at Monash."
