  • Free family concert

The Asian Youth Orchestra will perform at a free family concert at the Melbourne Concert Hall on 21 August at 8 pm.

The orchestra is being presented by Monash's School of Business Systems and will be conducted by Sergiu Comissiona.

The program includes Mozart, Beethoven and Berlioz. Tickets can be collected from the Alexander Theatre Box Office or by contacting extn 51111.

  • Postgraduate conference

The Nation and Identity: Europe in the 20th Century National Postgraduate Conference was recently held at the Clayton campus.

The three-day conference was the first to be entirely organised by and for Monash postgraduates of the School of European Languages and Cultures.

It included speakers from universities around Australia and overseas and covered subjects relating to systems of government, social interaction and culture.

  • More on the MBA

In last week's article on the dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics and her priorities for the future, it was stated that Monash had "recently resumed management of the MBA".

This was incorrect, as under the arrangement for the Monash Mt Eliza separation, the management of the MBA remains with the Monash Mt Eliza Business School until the separation date of 31 December 2000.

Monash University opened an MBA office on 3 July. The office is responsible for managing the launch of the new Monash MBA programs for their starting date of 2001.
