Student on par with award

A compact, multifunctional golf tool kit designed by Monash industrial design student Mr Alvin Sitoh will soon be commercially available.

The 25-year-old international student from Singapore, who designed the EXO golf tool kit, has won the US$10,000 first prize in the international Marksman Design Award.

The kit includes a quality mechanical pencil, brushes for cleaning clubs, a spike wrench to maintain golf shoes and a divot tool for repairing dents in the green, as well as a bottle opener and screwdriver.

Marksman, a leading producer of designer business gifts, is now starting to produce the EXO, which it says will be available commercially in the near future.

Marksman received about 400 entries from design students from more than 40 countries for the competition, which involved designing a product with a business travel theme.
