Australian University Games 2000

As the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games draw to a close, 275 Monash athletes will be gearing up for the Australian University Games.

The games, which will be held in Ballarat from 2 to 6 October, will see 3500 athletes compete in 16 sports, ranging from athletics and judo to Aussie Rules football.

Monash's contingent includes rowers Mr Lachlen McPherson and Mr Karsten Forsterling, who recently won silver for Australia in the World University Rowing Championships.

Monash also expects a strong showing in athletics, men and women's soccer, women's tennis, women's volleyball and Aussie Rules.
