  • Evaluating s11

The Politics department of the School of Political and Social Inquiry is holding a forum on Wednesday 4 October to discuss the events that took place outside the Crown Casino during the World Economic Forum last month.

The forum, titled 'Evaluating s11', aims to provide a scholarly discussion of the protests and place them in a political context.

Speakers include s11 organisers Mr David Glanz and Mr Cam Walker, criminal justice and criminology lecturer Mr David Baker, School of Public Policy and Social Work head Professor Brian Costar, Politics head Dr Dennis Woodward and other politics lecturers.

Papers will address globalisation issues, police activities, the Bracks Government's response, comparative analyses of protest politics, media coverage of the protest, and s11 from the organisers' point of view.

The forum will be held in lecture theatre R4 (Rotunda), Clayton, from 1 pm to 6 pm.

For further details, contact Dr Pete Lentini on extn 52402.
