Researcher wins philosophy prize

Monash English Language Centre teacher Dr Martin Davies has won the prestigious Harry Allen Prize in Philosophy.

Dr Davies won the prize for a book manuscript on the philosophical work of former vice-chancellor at the University of Adelaide Sir William Mitchell.

The award is believed to be the largest philosophy prize offered by an individual in Australia.

Dr Davies is a visiting scholar in philosophy from Flinders University.
