  • Japanese music concert with lecture

The Okita Saburo Memorial Association for Exchange in Traditional Japanese Music, a group of musicians and musicologists, is visiting Monash later this month for a performance of traditional Japanese music.

The concert, which will include an explanatory lecture, will be held at the Religious Centre, Clayton campus, on 24 October at 8 pm.

A traditional Japanese tea ceremony will take place before the performance from 7 pm (a small fee will apply). The concert will be followed by a reception for invited guests.

Admission charge is $15 full, $12 concession. For tickets and inquiries, contact extn 52260.

  • Rare books exhibition

A new exhibition, Outside the Main Stream: Private, Fine and Amateur Printing, will be opened at the Monash University Library Rare Books Exhibition area on 19 October at 5.45 pm.

The event will include the launch of Jean Whyte's Poems of Callimachus.
