  • Social work seminar

The Department of Social Work is holding a seminar titled 'Children with sexual behaviour problems' on 30 October at 5 pm.

The seminar, the first in a series to be hosted by the department, will include representatives from the Australians Against Child Abuse Centre for Children.

It will be held at Caulfield campus in building A (library building) in room 2.14.

Anyone interested in attending should contact Ms Joy Karton on extn 31120.

  • SPSS training

The Staff Development Unit is offering a series of workshops, 'Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS)', starting on 28 November.

SPSS is a powerful, but user-friendly program for analysing data and performing a wide variety of statistical procedures.

The workshops will be presented by Dr Julie Pallant, author of SPSS Survival Manual: A Step by Step Guide to Data Analysis Using SPSS (Version 10).

Dr Pallant is now a lecturer in design, statistics and the use of SPSS at Swinburne University.

  • Forum for anger management

The Faculty of Education's Professional Development Institute is holding an anger management forum for teachers and counsellors on Wednesday 22 November from 4.30 pm to 7.30 pm.

The forum will include information on practical strategies for the management of adolescents who are displaying angry and abusive behaviours.

The forum will take place in Rotunda R2, on Clayton campus. The cost is $88. For further information, contact Ms Marija Bukarica on extn 52861.
