International festival in Malaysia

Bringing students closer together

There was unity in cultural diversity at Monash University Malaysia's first-ever International Festival, held this month.

The event was organised by Monash Malaysia's International Students Society, with the support of the Student Association and a number of embassies and high commissions.

Malaysia campus students joined their counterparts from 13 countries for a fun-packed day to celebrate the festival, which included food, cultural shows and fashion parades featuring traditional costumes and modern clothing.

International students also performed a series of dances, including the Monsoon Season Dance from India.

The event's project director, Mr Leo Lam, said he hoped the festival would become an annual event with support from international students at other colleges and universities.
