Monash Memo - 27 June 2001Back to this edition's story list BriefsNew links with Kazakhstan A new partnership will see two students from Kazakhstan come to Monash to undertake postgraduate studies in July this year. The Kazakhstan government, which has traditionally sent students to the UK and US, will fund the study abroad program to Australia. Called Bolashak, which means 'looking into the future', the program will cover tuition fees, airfare, accommodation and visas for the Kazakhstan students. Monash was selected from 11 Australian universities to be part of the program after Kazakhstan education officials visited the Clayton campus earlier this year. Research funding opportunities VicHealth is running a research program seminar, 'Current priorities and directions', on Friday 29 June at the Clayton campus. VicHealth research and development director Dr Julia Shelley will present the seminar, which will cover the funding available from VicHealth for research fellowships and PhD scholarships. The seminar will be held at 10 am in room E4, building 32. |
