Shaking spears for Events Day

Staff and students will have the opportunity to view one of Australia’s leading indigenous dance troupes on Indigenous Events Day on 12 September at Clayton campus.

Dance group Koori Youth Will Shake Spears will perform at the launch of the 3SPACE: 21st Century Indigenous Explorers exhibition at Monash’s Museum of Art.

The group, which promotes the living culture and strength of Indigenous Australians,was formed in 1988, and since then more than 85 men and women have been a part of it.

They have performed at the opening of the Olympic Games soccer at the MCG, at Colonial Stadium for Sorry Day 2000, and at many festivals, conferences and community events around the country.
