Meditation sampler on offer

There is increasing evidence that meditation offers physiological and psychological benefits, as well as being highly valued for its spiritual dimension.

Monash University Community Services (Clayton) has been conducting free lunchtime meditation sessions for many years and is inviting staff to come along and experience the benefits.

Over the next few weeks, University Counselling Service psychologists Ms Janette Simmonds and Mr John Waters, who are experienced meditators, will be offering a 'sampler' of different meditation techniques.

The 'sampler' sessions will be held in the Narthex of the Religious Centre, Clayton, from 1.15 pm to 1.45 pm, with instructions commencing at 1.15 pm sharp on Tuesday 16 October (mindfulness/awareness meditation), Tuesday 23 October (visualisation), and Tuesday 30 October (mantra). Registration is not required.
