Monash Memo - articles - 17 October 2001eServices for easy accessMonash staff paid in Australia can now check their own employment information with the click of a mouse. eServices, a new web-based facility, gives fast private access to information such as pay records, leave balances, personal information and banking details. The information is stored in the SAP system, but a new web user interface allows staff to view their information and send any queries to Staff Services by email. The divisional director of Student and Staff Services, Mr Peter Marshall, said security of staff information was extremely important in making eServices available. "The most advanced encryption technology has been used to ensure that staff information accessed via the web remains private and protected," he said. Mr Marshall said the recent staff survey conducted by the SSS taskforce identified web-based employment information as the highest priority for service improvement. "We are now working to develop eServices further so that staff can do a range of transactions that are currently paper-based. The services will then be extended to Monash staff wherever they are located around the world." Deputy vice-chancellor (Resources) Ms Alison Crook said the new eServices development was an important step towards providing improved staff services. "Getting improved employment infromation on-line means that staff can attend to employment-related matters at a time of their own choosing," she said. eServices can be accessed from www.adm.monash.edu.au/sss/staff.htm
