Hong Kong celebrations

More than 400 students celebrated their graduation at recent ceremonies at Hong Kong's Grand Hyatt Hotel.

Students from the faculties of Business and Economics, Information Technology, Law, Science, Arts, Education, Engineering and Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences graduated in two ceremonies on 18 November.

International Alumni manager Mr Michael Simmonds said many of the Monash graduates who took part in the ceremonies had never been to Australia to study, having undertaken their entire Monash degree through programs offered by universities in Hong Kong.

Vice-chancellor Professor David Robinson (pictured) gave the occasional address to an audience that included deputy chancellor Mr Paul Ramler, deputy vice-chancellor (Academic and Planning) Professor Alan Lindsay, Gippsland pro vice-chancellor Professor Brian Mackenzie and director of administration and registrar at Monash Malaysia Dr Cheog Siew Yoong.
