Agents visit boosts international ties

Monash has strengthened relations with its internationaleducation agents through an Agent Awareness Program held lastweek.

Twenty agents from key international markets, includingMalaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, China, Brunei, theUnited Arab Emirates and Columbia visited the university as part of thetraining week, sponsored and organised by MonashInternational.

Director of International Marketing, MonashInternational, Mr Lindsay Yates said the week provided an excellentopportunity for mutual learning, both for Monash and for theagents.

"The awareness week has given Monash the chance to showcaseour facilities, campuses and staff to our international associates andagents," he said.

"We have also learned a great deal from them abouttheir experiences with Monash and how we can improve agent relations,admissions processes and student experiences."

The agents participatedin a range of activities, product briefings and visits, including toursof the Caulfield, Clayton, Peninsula, Gippsland, Berwick and citycampuses, faculty-represented panel discussions, Halls of Residencevisits, and presentations by the various Monash Internationaldepartments.

The group also toured the site of the new MonashInternational Centre at Clayton, the new hub of the university'sinternational activities.

In addition to attending the program, MonashInternational's China liaison officer, Ms Linda Cai, and the marketingmanager for Latin America, Ms Omayra Parra de Marroquin, participated ina week's additional training of university procedures and productknowledge.

Due to the success of the program, it will be held annuallyfor interested agents each year.
