Monash Memo - articles - 05 December 2001![]() The internationalfocus of the work done by honours visual communication student Ms LindaPham has been recognised with the prize of an iMac computer. Inconjunction with design agency FutureBrand FHA, Apple Computers searchednation-wide for two outstanding university students to receive computerhardware as part of their Apple Masters program. Ms Pham was presentedwith her prize by Mr Richard Henderson from FutureBrand FHA at theopening of the visual communication end-of-year student exhibitionCircus, on Thursday 22 November. Mr Henderson said the awardwas "the perfect marriage between industry and education" and that hecould not think of a better cause for Apple than the next generation ofdesigners. He said Ms Pham had been awarded the iMac because of theinternational nature of her work. Ms Pham is currently completing herhonours project on cross-cultural comparisons of design between Vietnam,Australia and Singapore. Monash's relationship with Apple willcontinue, with a visual communication honours student selected each yearto receive an Apple computer. In addition, Apple have agreed tosponsor an annual design lecture hosted by Monash. |
