Results of the recent Council elections

A number of Monash personnel recently had theopportunity to nominate and vote for representatives on UniversityCouncil.

There were two vacancies, one for a general staff member andone for a professorial member. Both of these positions were for a termof office from 1 January 2002 to 31 December 2003.

Nominations closedfor both positions at 12 noon on Monday, 22 October 2001.

Professorialstaff nominated one candidate for the one professorial vacancy onCouncil and accordingly, Professor Tam Sridhar from the Faculty ofEngineering was declared re-elected.

Two valid nominations werereceived for the general staff vacancy and a ballot was held. There wasan excellent response, with Ms Dale Halstead receiving a clear majorityand being re-elected as a general staff member on Council.

Allcandidates have been thanked for their participation and congratulationsconveyed to both the successful candidates.
