Losing their hair for charity

Charity went to the heads of staff and students atseveral Monash campuses recently, all for the 'World's Greatest Shavefor a Cure' day.

At Gippsland, staff and students who lined up to havetheir heads shaved or coloured raised more than $800 for the LeukemiaFoundation.

Coordinator of the event at Gippsland Ms Shirley Wrightsaid she had wanted to "do something to make a difference" in support ofthe many people, both children and adults, who lose their hair as aresult of treatment for leukemia.

At Clayton, library attendant MrTony Lorento agreed to shave his beard for the first time in 33 yearsafter more than $400 was raised.

Fellow library attendant Mr DuncanWingrave lost his locks after more than $100 had beendonated.
