Brendon Robinson

At just 30 years of age, Brendon Robinson has achieved much in his time at Monash.

Originally from Ballarat, Brendon moved to Melbourne to study civil engineering at the University of Melbourne in the 1980s and on finishing his degree he was offered a job with the university's Building and Development Branch.

A year later, Brendon made the switch to Monash's Clayton campus as branch administrator in Facilities and Services. His various committee responsibilities at Clayton gave him a good grounding in the significant operational issues facing the university.

During his time at Clayton, he managed projects totalling millions of dollars, including the multi-storey car park, the Sports and Recreation building development and the Sissons building development at Parkville campus.

Brendon's subsequent promotion to manager of Facilities and Services at Caulfield campus has provided more opportunities to be, as he describes it, "a staunch advocate of good design development". Most recently, he was project manager for the new award-winning Art and Design building.

"What I like about working for the university is learning about its wide-ranging initiatives, the diversity of the projects I work on and the team spirit at Monash," Brendon said.

Brendon's next challenge is planning major refurbishments to existing buildings at Caulfield, while on the home front he and wife Angelique are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first baby in October.
